What Is A Crypto Faucet?
A faucet is a cryptocurrency reward system which gives out small amounts of coins or tokens to registered users. Faucets are so-called since they usually ‘drip’ fractional amounts of cryptocurrency at certain time intervals. These systems come in the form of websites or mobile apps and typically require users to register with their cryptocurrency public address and email address.
How To Use The Faucet
Claiming
Once you have created a Global Hive account, you will need to use a crypto wallet that accepts Zcash
If you do not have a Zcash wallet address or Zcash crypto exchange address, you can quickly sign-up to Coinbase on your Mobile or Desktop. I’ll explain more on why Coinbase later.
Using Coinbase
- Once downloaded and/or signed up, open your “PORTFOLIO”
- Scroll down to find Zcash, click on Zcash and select the “WALLET” tab on the top.
- This will open the wallet history. Next, select the “RECEIVE” tab on the right of the screen, and it will display a QR code and crypto address.
- Copy and paste this address inside the “Your Zcash address” field in the Faucet.
Maximizing Rewards
To increase your rewards by ten (10x), download the Brave browser here. Once downloaded, install it through the execution file. Once opened, log back into your Global Hive account to proceed.
Initiate Deposit
- Once the above steps are finished, complete the captcha by following the onscreen instructions.
- Next, click on the “Claim” button.
- Crypto currency can be claimed every 20 hours. If you claimed the previous day, the star multiplier will increase your reward according to your star level. Cryptocurrency deposited into your account will be within a random range and adjusted based on the daily USD price. (This is to make sure the faucet has sustainable economics.)

Referral Tab
The referral tab is used to manage your referral system. You have two options to invite someone to the Faucet:
- Invite them via a link: Found on the REWARDS page, this can be copied and pasted to your friends.
- Invite them via email: Found on the REWARDS page. Press the “Invite friends via email” button. When the window opens, emails can be entered into the screen. The more you refer the more you make!
Your Referrals Dashboard
Found within the My Account dropdown menu, your Referral page displays those who have accepted your invitation and registered. There are three status levels for every referral.
- Waiting for Activation: this means that the referral has already registered but has not yet claimed ZEC for the first time.
- Claim now: Once the user registers with your invitation and claims ZEC for the first time, then after 24 hours the status will update to “Claim now”. You can then redeem your bonus round by clicking on the “Claim now” button.
- Claimed: When your referral claims a bonus round, the referral status updates to “Claimed”.
History Tab
The history tab is used to review your claiming history, this table contains all the claims you have made through time including the bonus rounds. There are four columns:
- Date: Day and UTC time of claim.
- The reward amount.
- The ZEC address to which the reward was sent.
- The transaction id this item is clickable and it allows you to see the transaction in a more detailed fashion inside the block explorer.
